CHICAGO — In the agency world, perhaps nothing beats winning a coveted Agency of the Year honor in an annual awards competition. For Slack and Company, 2014 was just such a banner year with recognition from Ad Age and the national Business Marketing Association.
And our latest win indicates the Slack winning streak hasn't slowed. In late October, Slack was named a 2016 B2B Top Shop, an elite list of top 50 U.S. B2B marketing agencies selected by the editors of Chief Marketer.
"We're honored that Slack has been selected for this best-of-the-best B2B agencies list," said Slack chief creative officer Ron Klingensmith. "But we really have to thank our clients. They're ones who challenge us to create work that breaks through, sparks action and moves the needle."
Chief Marketer is a trusted source of insights and ideas for more than 140,000 brand and B2B marketers. See more information about the 2016 B2B Top Shops here.
Slack joins elite few in Ad Age competition
In its first year of honoring top business-to-business marketing agencies, Advertising Age named Slack and Company along with gyro NY and Doremus NY as three runners up to its choice of Ogilvy & Mather North America as its 2014 Agency of the Year.
Slack and Company was the only non-New York-based B2B agency to earn Ad Age’s accolades, and it registered the greatest year-over-year growth of the four decorated B2B agencies, posting gross revenue growth of 22.9% in 2013. “To be ranked just behind Ogilvy & Mather, one of the most honored and storied agencies in advertising history, is a tremendous honor for our company,” said Gary Slack, chairman and chief experience officer.
Named top agency in BMA B2 awards
In May 2014, the leading service organization for business-to-business (B2B) marketing professionals, the Business Marketing Association (BMA) named Slack and Company the 2014 B2B Agency of the Year at its annual B2 Awards Competition.
The Agency of the Year award honors extraordinary business marketers who demonstrate excellence in forward thinking, creativity and results in B2B marketing.
“It’s been quite the year. First, it was the Ad Age recognition, and then the B2 award. This definitely serves as affirmation that we’re doing a lot of things right—for our clients and our industry,” said Ron Klingensmith, chief creative officer at Slack and Company. “More importantly, the B2s have become more of a global B2B competition in recent years, attracting and recognizing agencies from around the world, which makes this achievement even more significant.”
Slack and Company won a total of 10 B2 awards in 2014, including a Best of Category Award in Sponsorship – Charity or Cause, for its work with Case Construction Equipment.
Such honors are not new to Slack and Company. The agency, which celebrated 25 years in business in mid-2013, has been named a B2B agency of the year a number of times over the past 20 years by Crain Communications sibling BtoB magazine as well as the Business Marketing Association.
