Senior Digital Strategist

The Senior Digital Strategist is tasked with assisting the growth of the Digital Strategy department through participating in new business pitches, authoring thought-leadership articles, and ensuring the agency remains innovative and integrated in its digital strategy department. The Senior Digital Strategist calls on their vast range of digital experience in order to manage and assist with the development and delivery of client and agency digital projects. The Senior Digital Strategist supports the Director of Digital Strategy in educating clients and internal staff on the latest trends, tips, and tactics for effective digital marketing. Additionally, the Senior Digital Strategist participates, where appropriate, in speaking engagements that emphasize the agency’s leadership role in the B2B digital marketing category.

Principal accountabilities

In addition to following agency policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Exhibits a strong client-service mentality with both internal (account and creative services) and external clients.
  • Establishes sound and effective working relationships internally with client team members and with client.
  • Establishes sound and effective working relationships and resolves conflicts or roadblocks to either the relationship or the completion of assigned projects.
  • Collaborates with and mentors campaign managers to ensure internal procedures are properly carried out.

Subject-matter expertise

  • Manage multiple complex digital marketing development projects at once, serving both in an oversight and hands-on role as needed.
  • Serve as digital marketing SME on current client calls and prospective new business opportunities.
  • Provide sound digital analysis and recommendations to agency and clients based on creative observations and problem solving in a variety of digital sub-topics such as UX and systems integration.
  • Develop and deliver company and client presentations to ensure a broader and more in-depth understanding of digital.
  • Stay up-to-date on and advise clients of the latest trends and developments in digital marketing.
  • Provide consultative digital strategy to client teams and assist in growing the agency’s digital practice.
  • Participate in public speaking opportunities that will promote the agency’s digital expertise and reputation.

Technical experience qualifications

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, RWD
  • Experience with Flash, Edge and HTML 5
  • Experience developing using 4th gen language(s) and libraries (such as Javascript, jQuery, PHP)
  • Experience developing using 3rd gen language(s) and libraries (such as C, C++, C#, Java)
  • Experience setting up and maintaining a variety of systems in support of development environments and delivery platforms
  • Experience with social media listening platforms (such as Radian6, ScoutLabs)
  • Experience with social media engagement platforms (such as HootSuite, CoTweet, Radian6)
  • Experience with with paid search platforms
  • Experience with web analytics platforms
  • Knowledge of search engine algorithms for both paid and organic search
  • Knowledge of common adserving (particularly rich media) platforms
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Computer Science (or other, unrelated field but with related deep digital experience)
  • Personal blog or portfolio of work emphasizing broad knowledge and experience in digital marketing
  • 5 to 7 years of related experience preferred
